Carlos Galarza, age 60, of Lakewood, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. He was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico on July 3, 1954, and was the son of the late Obdulia and Basilio Galarza. Carlos was a resident of Lakewood for the last 36 years. We was an employee of the Township of Lakewood’s Public Works Department. He loved to play baseball and was a fan of the NY Yankees. Carlos is survived by his beloved wife Mily Galarza; 5 children, Cristina Edwards, Karen Galarza, Carlos J. Galarza, Jose Galarza and Emily Galarza; 2 brothers, Juan Galarza and Baltazar Galarza; 3 sisters, Sara Galarza, Zenaida Galarza Lopez, and Otilia Galarza; and four grandchildren, Elias Edwards, Cilicia Edwards and Kara Edwards, and Arcangel Berrios. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 8PM at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Carlos will return to Puerto Rico for burial in the New Municipal Cemetery of Yauco.
