

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Vita Marie (Pugliese) and his children: David Watson of Toms River, Lisa and Ross Gertner of Toms River, and James and Susan Watson, also of Toms River; his grandchildren: Kyle and Samantha Gertner, and Seamus and John Watson.
He was born in Oklahoma and served in the US Navy. After his discharge from the Navy, he moved to Jersey City, married and eventually lived in Jackson, Toms River, Hilton Head, SC and Lakewood. Douglas worked for Prodelin, Inc., Bell Labs and AT&T as a draftsman and engineer.
He was an avid photographer and short-wave radio enthusiast. He had a vast collection of tools and could fix most anything. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30AM at St. Luke’s RC Church, Toms River under the direction of D’Elia Funeral Home, Hwy 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood. Ennichment of cremains will be held at a later date.
