Delphine Scalera, age 91, of Brick, NJ passed away on May 8, 2020 at the Tallwoods Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Bayville, NJ. Delphine was born on April 28, 1929 in Newark, NJ as the daughter of the late Hortense (DiVingo) and Patrick Certrulo. She was a former secretary in Newark, NJ, retiring from the New Jersey Department of Workers Compensation. Her hobbies were gardening, painting and sewing clothes. Wife of the late Daniel Scalera, she is survived by her sister Carmela Allegretta and her children, Patricia (Vic, children Victor (Liana and Leo), Nicholas), Frank Allegretta his wife Gina, their daughter Jennifer and her sons Jack and Oliver. Gary Allegretta and his son Noah. Due to the COVID19 pandemic, all arrangements are private. She will be laid to rest with her late husband in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s hospital or the ASPCA as children and animals were her passions.
