Casper, WY – Dolores T. Marszalek, of Douglas, Wyoming, formerly a resident of The Enclave, Lakewood, NJ, passed away on March 19th, 2026. She was born in Carnegie, PA to John and Teofila Dombrowski on March 7th, 1937. She graduated from Carnegie High School, Class of 1955, with honors. Dolores worked as a secretary for the Superintendent of Schools, Carlynton Joint School District, after graduation, from 1955-1961. She then married the love of her life, Stanley J. Marszalek Jr. on June 10th, 1961 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Carnegie, PA. Relocating to Baltimore, Maryland with her new husband, she worked as a secretary at the Naomi Duff Smith Agency, a small public relations agency in Baltimore. Due to Stan needing to relocate for his job, the couple then moved to East Orange, NJ where Dolores worked for Owens-Illinois, Inc. as a secretary, handling accounts with Schering, Squibb, and Bristol-Meyers. She left this job to take on the responsibility of being a dedicated mother after the adoption of their son, Stanley J. Marszalek III (S.J.), in 1970, where they lived in Dover, and Williamsport PA before finally moving to Middletown, NJ in 1974 due to Stan’s job with Liberty Mutual and then Prudential Insurance. Dee was always active during this time, attending St. Catharine’s Church in Holmdel, NJ, serving on the Parish Council, doing the altar boy scheduling, and singing in the choir. From 1975-1982, she also was active in the local Middletown PTA associations, serving as Editor of the PTA newsletter and still finding time to volunteer as “Picture Lady”, visiting the classrooms at Nut Swamp Elementary School in Middletown each month with a different work of Art and giving a presentation with hands-on activities for the children. In 1984 she began her career at Fort Monmouth, working as a civilian employee for The Department Of The Army, retiring in 2005. After 33 years in Middletown, retired life brought her and her husband Stan to the Enclave in Lakewood, NJ where most of you reading this will remember her from. Attending St. Luke’s Church, serving as cantor and singing in the choir for many years and being active in her community brought her much contentment, and many friends. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Teofila, brothers and sisters Henry, Joe, John Jr, Helen, Vicki, Al, and Mary. Her deepest loss was the passing of her husband of 60 years, Stan, in 2021, after his courageous battle with cancer. She was always there for him to lean on.
Dolores is survived by her son, Stan III who resides in Wyoming, and dozens of nieces, nephews, and cousins who were always dear to her heart.
Arrangements will be handled by D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ. Her funeral mass will celebrated at 10:30 AM on June 5th, 2026 at St. Luke’s Church, 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River NJ 08755. Committal services will follow in the St. Mary of The Lake Mausoleum in Lakewood, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society, St. Luke’s Church, Toms River, NJ.
