Genevieve Jane Dwyer

Genevieve Jane Dwyer, 84, of Lakewood, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at her home in Lakewood surrounded by her loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she grew up in Bay Ridge. Jane and her husband raised their 4 sons in Floral Park (Long Island) and, after 40 years, they moved to the Fairways at Lake Ridge in Lakewood. Jane was a very active resident at the Fairways and enjoyed the community she had lived in for the past 16 years. She was a Lady Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Luke’s RC Church, Toms River.

Jane was predeceased by her loving husband Henry “Harry” in 2006, her grandson Paul, and siblings Elizabeth Dooley, Irene Greene and Paul Hopkins. She is survived by her loving children, Paul Dwyer (Angela) of Lakewood, NJ, Peter Dwyer (Annmarie) of Oceanside, NY, Matthew Dwyer (Kathleen) of Long Beach, NY, Michael Dwyer (Nicole) of Los Angeles, CA, and five devoted grandchildren, Peter (Melanie), Victoria, Sarah, Eamon and Laura. Jane is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 10:30am at St. Luke’s RC Church, Toms River. Interment will follow at the Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, NY (Long Island).
