
Jane Neuviller 98, passed away on February 5th of natural causes. She was born in New York City, grew up in Ridgewood, and lived most of her life in Bergen County including Ramsey, Glen Rock, and Fort Lee, before she retired to Ocean County living at both Renaissance in Manchester and Harrogate in Lakewood.
She was a graduate of Ridgewood High School. She graduated from Bucknell University in 1949 with a Bachelors Degree in Finance and Commerce, where she was a member of Kappa Delta. She started her career with Time Life Magazine in New York City where she worked for several years before she left to raise her three children full time. After her children grew up and went to college, she rejoined the workforce as a realtor with Caldwell Banker.
During her life she was an active member of the community where she served in many roles including as a frequent volunteer for the Valley Hospital of Ridgewood, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, an executive board member for the League of Women Voters and the Glen Rock Zoning Board, and a founder of the Glen Rock Recycling Center. She enjoyed golf, reading, spending quality time with loved ones, and worldwide traveling with her husband. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Neuviller, Sr., her daughter, Nancy Rapenske and her son-in-law Thomas Farmer. She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for her sharp wit and intellect, an unmatched ferocity and devotion for the people and causes she cared about, and was unshakeable in both her drive and determination to live life as fully as possible with and for other people.
She is survived by her son Thomas Neuviller Jr. and his wife, Mary, his daughter, Linda Farmer, and son-in-law, Bob Rapenske. She is also survived by her devoted grandchildren who call her “Janeu”; Amanda Farmer and her husband Darryl Gaskins, Rachel Branch and her husband Joe Branch, Melissa Micari and her husband Matthew Micari, Peter Rapenske, Abigail Neuviller and several great grandchildren; Hazel Branch, Lucy Branch, Thomas Branch, and August Gaskins.
A memorial service will be held on May 1, 2026, followed by a burial at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Donations can be made in her honor to Valley Hospital 4 Health Plaza Paramus, New Jersey 07652.
