Julie Grimaldi

Julia "Julie" Grimaldi, age 98, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the Concord Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lakewood, NJ . Julie was born July 6, 1923 in the Bronx, NY as the daughter of Vincent and Theresa Arena. Julie was a former resident of Monmouth County, and also resided in the Homestead Run section of Toms River, before moving to Lakewood in 2016. Prior to her retirement, Julie was a professional seamstress. She had an artistic talent for drawing and enjoyed spending time with her family and her pet cats and dogs.

Wife of the late Michael Grimaldi who passed in 2003, she is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Laurenzano and her husband Chris; and three granddaughters, Patricia Shipley and her husband John, Kristina Young and her husband Jason, and Alexandria Laurenzano; five great-grandsons, Richard, Samuel, Joseph, Matthew and Jason; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Visitation, 730 Lynnwood Ave, Brick Township, NJ08723. Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ
