

Margaret “Madge” Short Taylor, 88, passed away January 16, 2012 at her home in Lakewood. Mrs. Taylor was born in New York City and lived in Sayreville and Middletown for many years before moving to Lakewood for the past 11 years. Madge was a graduate of the Blessed Sacrament High School in New York City. She worked for the Hess Corporation for many years as an administrative assistant, retiring in 1994 after 20 years of service. Madge loved traveling, playing golf, spending holidays with her family and was especially proud of her Irish heritage. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be greatly missed by all. Mrs. Taylor is predeceased by her parents John and Josephine Tuohy, brother, John, and first husband of 25 years, John J. Short. Margaret is survived by her husband of 30 years John D. Taylor, five children, Jack and his wife Georgia, Peggy and her husband Pete Kenny, Bobby, Jerry and his wife Maryann, and Vincent and his wife Lori, four grandchildren, John, Megan, Alexie and Courtney, sister, Maureen Fitzsimmons, and brother, Edward Tuohy.
Friends may call Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 9:15AM at the St. Luke’s Church in Toms River. Interment will take place at Christ Church Cemetery in South Amboy, NJ.
