Martin Pizarro

Martin Pizarro, age 73, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011 at his daughter's home in Avenel, NJ. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on April 15, 1938, and was the son of the late Martin and Isabel (Figueroa) Pizarro. Mr. Pizarro was a former resident of Manchester and Roselle, NJ. He was veteran of the Army of the United States, having served two tours of duty as an Airborne Ranger in Vietnam. Mr. Pizarro was a retired O.S.H.A. Saftey Manager for the Department of the Navy at the Lakehurst Naval Warfare Center for 21 years. He was predeceased by his wife Maria in 1993. Mr. Pizarro is survived by his children, John M. and his wife Cynthia of Fort Dix, NJ, Martina Carrera and her husband Diego of Avenel, NJ; Isabella LaMorte of Long Island, NY, and Stefania Pizarro of Roselle, NJ; his grandchildren, Thomas John Pizarro, James and Jessica Carrera, Jake Pizarro, Alexis and Josephine Schwartz, Brianna LaMorte, and Tiara and Dior Kiler. Visitation will be Monday July 18, 2011 at the D'Elia Funeral Home, Rte. 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. His funeral ceremony will conducted 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Brigadier General W.C. Doyle, NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provicneline Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
