Michael Lorenc

Born in Newark, he grew up in Jackson and raised his family in Lakewood before building a home in Whiting, where he was surrounded by his loving family, took care of his yard, and played with his dog, Sophie.

Quiet and unassuming, his warmth and wit still made him the life of the party. His siblings fondly remember that Mike had the unique ability to make their mother laugh, even when she was yelling. He was a selfless and hardworking man who fell in love with his wife when they were teenagers. They married and had four beautiful children whom he loved more than words could express.

Surviving is his wife, soul mate, and best friend of 38 years, Patricia; they shared two halves of the same heart; 4 children: Suzan Lorenc and her fiancé Michael Borgia, Alicia Smith and her husband Brian, Michael Lorenc II and his fiancée Melissa Parise, and Joanna Lorenc and her fiancé J.T. Polizzi; 6 grandchildren: Tyler, Michael, Gianna, Nolan, Joey, and Perri - he was their "PaPa" and they were the light of his life; 4 siblings: Joanne Reitemeyer, Paul “Butch” Lorenc and his wife Kathy, Thomas Lorenc, and Sandra Lorenc; 5 siblings-in-law: Nadine and Sid Roberts, David and Brenda Decher, Karen McPartlin and her fiancé Joel Merkin, Keith and Marlena Decher, DaraLynn and Daryl Layton; his mother-in-law, Lucy Decher; and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Frances Lorenc; his father-in-law, Kenneth Decher; a sister, Carol Ann Lorenc; and a brother-in-law, Albert Reitemeyer.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:30AM at St. Mary of the Lake RC Church, Lakewood. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
