

Peter M. “Pete” DiFranco, 86, of Toms River, NJ., father of Karen Cangialosi & Stephen DiFranco; grandfather to Jeffrey & Peter Cangialosi and husband of nearly 54 years to Terry, passed away on May 10, 2014. Pete worked as a salesman but his true passion was photography. He worked in the photo map labs while stationed at Itami Army Air Base in Osaka, Japan after WW II and later as a photographer for Bachrach Studios. He grew up in Irvington, NJ; the son of Eleanor; “Nonnie” and Michael. His grandfather was a carpenter who gave Pete a natural talent to “fix anything.” Pete and Terry raised their family in Kenilworth. Later they retired to Toms River where Pete was active in sports and helped at their Community Club House with shows and events. Retirement offered Pete the opportunity to spend time with his grandsons. He was a fan at every baseball game and tennis match. Jeffrey graduated Georgetown in ’13 and Peter (his namesake) attends Duke University.
