

Robert E. Reese, age 83, of Freehold, passed away Saturday at the Centra State Medical Center in Freehold, NJ. Born and raised in Lakewood, NJ, Robert was a lifelong area resident. He retired after 40 years of service in the US Post Office Lakewood Branch. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and Korea. Robert further served his country as a member of the National Guard, having served in the 112th and the157th Field Artillery. He was a former Vice-Commander for the American Legion in Lakewood. Robert was active as a volunteer with the Lakewood Fire Department Co. #2, and was a Past President of the Exempt Firemen Association. He was a former member of the Bricktown Elks. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 38 years, Carolyn (Cohen) Reese; his six children, Robert S. and his wife Dorothy of Barnegat, Jay B. and his wife Jacqueline of Howell, NJ, Edward F. and his wife Roseann of Freehold, Donald M. and his wife Jody of Hazlet, NJ, Rosemary E. Reese-Frasca of Brick, and Suzanne B. Reese of Brick; a brother George W. and his wife Roxanne of Fruitland Park, FL; two nephews, George and Joseph; 12 grandchildren, Joseph, Tamilynn, Robert, Tracy, Tina, Terri, Michelle, Timothy, Tiffany, Kyle, Randy and Bryanna; six great grandchildren, Jack, Autumn, Ashley, Adyen, Adalyn, and Temperance; and his former wife, Betty B. Reese. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte. 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold, NJ.
