Shobha Sethi

Shobha Sethi, aged 71, of Wall Township, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021. Shobha was born in Ludhiana, India, but emigrated to the United States in 1974, joining her three older siblings in New York. Shobha received two Master’s degrees in Physics and Computer Science from Delhi University and Brooklyn Polytechnic University, respectively. Upon marrying Dr. Kul Bhushan Sethi in 1976 in New York, the couple eventually moved to New Jersey where she worked at AT&T Bell Labs in Holmdel for 15 years. A proud and loving mother, Shobha delighted in traveling with her family, taking many trips over the years to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, India, and visiting her daughter in Korea, Colombia, and Argentina.

While an avid traveler, Shobha took equal pleasure cooking in her home near the beach and walking on the boardwalk, where she was at peace watching the sunset. She will be remembered fondly for her giving, her laugh, and her warmth.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Kul Bhushan Sethi (retired); sister, Saroj Manchanda; daughter, Priya Sethi and her husband Nimish Verma; and beloved grandson, Nayan Verma.

A private service for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 12 at D’Elia Funeral Home in Lakewood, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to Siddhivinayak Temple in Toms River, NJ. http://www.siddhivinayaktempleusa.org
