

William M. Keating, 81, of Lakewood, NJ, passed away at home, on Friday April 22, surrounded by his family. Born in Newark, Bill lived in Bloomfield, NJ for many years before moving to the Fairways in Lakewood in 1998. Bill attended Stevens Institute of Technology and spent most of his career as a contract engineer for Otis Elevator, Harrison. He was a member of the Orange High School Basketball Championship Team 1948, a Korean War Navy Veteran, a member of both the AmVets and the American Legion #166. Bill was also the co founder of the Men’s Traveling Golf Club in the Fairways, which he was involved with for ten years.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary (nee Henning), his 3 devoted daughters and their husbands; Linda Mulcahy and Cliff, of Summit, NJ, Janice Cusmai and John, of Montclair, NJ and Karen Moran and Kevin, of Verona, NJ, his cherished grandchildren, Bridget, Jack, Lauren, Tara, Michael, Matthew, Cristina and Megan, his dear brother John Keating and his wife Alice, and nieces Grace Berg and Alice Smyth, and his late nephew John Keating.
Visitation will be on Tuesday April 26, 2011, from3-5 & 7-9 pm, at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Route 70 & Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wed. April 26, at 10: 30 am, at St. Mary of the Lake RC Church, Lakewood, NJ, with Interment to follow at the Brig. WC Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill’s memory to the Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation, 150 New Providence Rd., Mountainside, NJ 07092.
