

Bettie Louise Scott Foreman was born to the union of Alvin Scott and Nadine Dykes Scott on April 2, 1944 in Rockdale, Texas, Midland County. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Texas City, Texas in 1961. She was employed with Mainland Janitorial Services for more than 20 years as secretary to Curtis and Fannie Sowell, owners. Later, she was employed by Robco Services for 17 years before retiring. She was united and baptized at Greater Barbours Chapel Baptist Church by the late Rev. J. H. Scott. Later she united with First Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Dr. F.M. Johnson. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, one brother and sister-in-law, Archie and Doris Scott; two aunts, Ella Roquemore and Myrtle Smith; seven uncles, Robert, James, Maurice, Sylvester, Edwin, Ben and Leo Scott; and grandparents, Brady and Sallie Dykes. To cherish her memory, she leaves her children J.W. "Cookie" Foreman, Scott "Scottie" Foreman (Patti), D'Onna "Sissy" Collins (Carleton); brothers, Alvin (Eunice), Aubry, Anthony, and Alan (Natalie) Scott; sisters, Deborah (Will) Scott, Marilyn (James) Turner; two grandchildren, Jordan Scott Jolly and Chelsea Marks; one great grandchild, Kane Duryea Jolly; two aunts, Piney Ray Scott and Verelean Scott, extended family: mother, Gwendolyn Scott; cousins/sisters, Patsy Griffin (Austin,TX), Bessie Flewellen (San Antonio), Linda Roberson (Tomball, TX), Frances Lampkin (Arlington, TX), Patricia Adams (Houston, TX) and Joan Diggs (Dayton, OH), the Connor (Muszetta) family, the Jones-Malveaux family, Pauline Callis; nephew, Darrah Foreman and the Foreman family, along with a host of nieces and nephews and friends and First Baptist Church family.
