

Edward James Sowell Sr., 56 passed on February 26, 2014 in Fontana, California. He was born on August 22, 1958 to Mr. Lloyd and Mrs. Clara Sowell in the State of Louisiana. "Eddie" As he was affectionately called by his family and friends grew up in La Marque Texas and attended School. Eddie began Boxing at the age of 10 at the La Marque boys club under the coaching of Leo Johnson. Eddie became an excellent boxer, this sport became his passion , he fought in the golden gloves, and during his amateur career he developed as one of the fasted hands in country , Eddie later enlisted in the United States Navy where he began to use his middle name James for boxing purposes. After leaving the Navy Eddie became a professional boxer Licensed by the California Athletic Commission, During his Professional Career Eddie had the opportunity to fight for the WBA and WBC Light Welterweight Championship, and Twice for the WBC International Lightweight Championship. His career abruptly ended after an injury which launched him into the Ministering of the Gospel on the street corners and also at a small church in Los Angeles California. Preceded in death by his wife Sandra, Edward leaves to cherish his memory His children; three daughters, Tiffany Sowell Eaton (Mario), Natalie Hardison, and Charlotte Hardison; one son, Edward James Sowell Jr. (Kenneshia); eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; his mother and father, Clara and Lloyd Sowell; sisters, Annette Sowell, Rose Sowell (Oseeg); brothers, Lloyd (Lula), Jonathan, Kenneth, Rev William (Laurie) and Pastor Amos (Tifanny); along with a host of relatives and friends.
