Herbert Johnny "Butch" Cotton Jr.

On May 24, 1956 a bouncing baby boy was born to Bessie Mae Diggs and Herbert Cotton, Sr. in Angelina County, Texas, whom they named Herbert Cotton, Jr.   Herbert grew up and attended school in West Columbia, TX and later moved to Texas City where he graduated from Texas City High School in 1976, and later enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He returned home after his tour of duty and was employed with multiple contractors in the Petrochemical industry through Local #154 in Texas City, TX.   Herbert met and married Fannie Scurry Cotton on October 16, 1996. After a short illness God called him home on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Mainland Center Hospital. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bennie Ray Gamble, Father, Herbert Cotton, Sr. and his Grandmother, Ella Diggs whom helped raise him.   He is survived by his Sons, Shomari Cotton and Jakobe Cotton. Three Stepsons, whom he helped raise Warren (Alicia) Wilson, Whitney (Mardavia) Prevost III, and Lee Prevost whom he loved dearly. His Mother , Bessie Mae Stewart, Six Sisters Ivory Nell Campbell, Joyce Berry, Beverly (Anthony) Williams, Patricia (Felix) Ford, Linda (Michael) Kie, Carla (Lloyd) Geters, Five Brothers David Gamble, Leon (Hattie) Gamble, Johnny Cotton, Elroy (Michelle) Stewart, and Bill (Della) Stewart and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and other relatives.
