

He was baptized at an early age at Galilee United Methodist Church in Texas City. He attended Booker T Washington Elementary School and graduated from Texas City High School in 1978. He married his high school sweetheart, Joy Lynn Johnson and to this union one son was born, Terry Lee Scott Jr., who passed away in July 1995. He was also proceeded in death by his parents; his grandparents, James and Gabriel Lena Scott, and Otha and Mae Green; his brothers, James “Wheatley” Scott and Leslie Green; his uncle, Larry Scott; great grandmothers, Mrs. Estella Carr and Bessie Scott; and a special aunt Betty Foreman.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his wife, Diana Scott; uncle and aunt, William and Joan Diggs; daughters, Tabasha (T.J.) Jefferson and Tasharea Jefferson; and four sons De’ Andre Jefferson, Deon Jefferson, Taj Scott and Ke Ondre’ Bell and his only sister, Stacey McCray; 15 grandchildren, Terry III, De’Andre Jr, Deon Jr, Adrianna, Calani, Cadyn, D’Nyah, Malayah, Diamond, Kevin Jr, McKinley, Madison, Kyren and Tristen; special cousins Nikki, Josh and William Diggs II, J.W. Forman, Debra Scott, Anthony Scott and Aubrey Scott and many other relatives and friends.
The remains of Terry Scottwill lie in state in the Chapel of Mainland Funeral Home 2711 Texas Avenue La Marque, TX 77568.
There will be a Public Viewing Monday, February 17, 2020 at 9:00 AM followed by A Service to Celebrate Terry’s Life at 11:00 AM. Both Services will be held at Mainland Funeral Home. Terry will be Interred with his son at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery Santa Fe. TX. Memorials may be sent to the Funeral Home. Dorthea Jones is the Family Funeral Director.
