Edward L. Benson, 79 of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, June 17th, 2023. Edward was born on June 12th, 1944 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Aurdey and Clara Benson. Edward served in the United States Army in the 219th Aviation Company during the Vietnam War. He was a firefighter for both the Lancaster Fire Department and the Rickenbacker Fire Department.
Edward is survived by his sons, Brian Christopher Benson and Chad Alan Benson; many relatives in Ohio; grandchildren, and other loving friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta J. Benson and his parents.
A time of sharing and storytelling will be held on Saturday, July 1st, 2023 at 1PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Friends and family are encouraged to share stories and memories of Edward. Visitation will be held from 12PM-1PM on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
