James P Fouty

James “Jim” Fouty, 84, of Lancaster passed away on Monday, March 27th, 2023 at the Crestview Rehabilitation Center. Jim was born on March 11th, 1939 to the late William Perry and Ruth Fouty in Columbus, Ohio. He served in the United States Marine Corps, where he earned multiple awards for his marksmanship. Jim had many sales and marketing positions during his career. He also was a co-owner of the Heritage Gardening Landscape Center. Jim had many hobbies and he loved the outdoors, especially fly-fishing. He enjoyed Ohio State and Golden Gales Football games. Jim was also a former member of the Lancaster Men’s Chorus and the YMCA Indian Guides.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Kay Fouty; children, Deb (Dennis) Clark, Jeff (Trudy) Koska, Julie (Pat) Valentine, Steven (Lex) Fouty, and Laurie (Rick) Swyers; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Dave (Stephanie) Shotts; longtime best friends, Bob and Pat Urig, along with his special high school friend, Bob Rush.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dr. William Fouty; sister, Norma Adams; brother and sister in law, Debbie and David Crist; and his first wife, Marty Fouty.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 1st, 2023 at 3PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held from 1PM-3PM on Saturday. Dignity Cremation is to follow the services.
