Leslie Darlene Brenstuhl, 71 of Rushville passed away on Tuesday, July 6th, 2021 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She was born on June 27th, 1950 in Phoenix, Arizona to the late George T. and Rosella E. Brenstuhl. Leslie was a 1968 graduate of Lancaster High School and received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Ohio State University. Upon graduation she worked for Lancaster City Schools as a Speech Pathologist and returned to her field later in life making her a two-time retiree. Leslie loved dancing, sewing, working in her garden, working out, and watching movies. She also loved animals, especially her three dogs, and being outdoors. Leslie was an adventurous person that was especially thrifty, always loving a good deal. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Leslie is survived by her children, Stephanie (Mike & Brittni Downs) Hilliard and Michael (Victoria) Hilliard; grandchildren, Megan Cremeans, Brooke Cremeans, Joseph Hilliard, Matthew Hilliard, and James Hilliard; sister, Linda Brennstuhl, and her fur babies, Duke, Dave, and Krockett.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Larry Brenstuhl, as well as her beloved dog Max.
Dignity Cremation is to take place through the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 14th at Harvest Adventures (Bremen, OH) from 3pm-7pm. There will be food, fellowship, and shared peace in a casual atmosphere that Leslie would have preferred. Additional details can be found on Leslie’s Facebook page.
