

Marjorie Lou Myers Buchanan of Lancaster, passed away in her home surrounded by those she loved on Thursday, June 30, 2011. Born June 25, 1927 in Newark, Ohio, she was happily married for 62 years and is survived by her loving husband Robert B. Buchanan.
Marjorie was a major contributor to Buchanan's Furniture and Interiors and Buchanan's Real Estate and was a dedicated friend to all her customers. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had been actively involved in teaching Sunday School, the Altar Guild, and Methodist Youth Fellowship. Over the many years, Marjorie participated in the "Chicken Pot Pie Sales" and Rummage Sales that were instrumental in purchasing The Rising House by the church.
She was a former member of Zonta International and Hospital Twig 2. She was an active volunteer of the Lancaster Swim Team, the Camp Fire Girls, and Parent League. Marjorie was a loyal Ohio State Buckeye fan, an avid tennis and golf enthusiast, loved gardening, swimming, and being with her beloved dogs. Continuing her career as a Newark High School majorette and cheerleader, she enjoyed cheering for all her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Beth and John Hoch, Tolli and Bob Gossett, Rod and Ann Buchanan, and Chris and Scott Dalton along with her grandchildren: Erynne and Rob Hamilton, Robert and Sarah Gossett, Johnathon Hoch and his fianc?, Brittney Dennison, Brett and Laura Buchanan, Meghan Buchanan and her fianc? Matt Jenson, Brooke Buchanan, Stuart Dalton, Caroline Dalton, and great grandchildren Owen, Gretchen, and Mason Hamilton.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents: Iva and Issac Myers, brothers: Ike Myers, Warren Myers, Harry Myers, and Ralph Myers, sisters: Vera Myers Westfall, Irma Myers Abbott, Jean Myers Deuschle Yost and mother- in- law, Marjorie K. Buchanan. Marjorie is survived by her three sisters: Marian Myers Nethers, Edythe Myers Van Winkle, Dorothea Myers Boehn, and her many beloved nieces and nephews and their families.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M.Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Halteman-Fett Dyer Funeral Home, 436 North Broad Street Lancaster, Ohio, with Rev. Robert McDowell officiating. Dignity cremation has already taken place. The Buchanans will receive family and friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home and at The Rising House, 131 N. High Street Lancaster, Ohio, following the memorial services.
