

Pat D. “PD” Peery, age 81, of Sugar Grove, Ohio, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 at Arbors at Carroll Rehabilitation Center. He was born on May 25, 1934 to the late Pat Sr. and Goldie Peery in Beckley, West Virginia. He loved a good joke and the satisfaction of a long drive off the tee. He enjoyed woodworking and true tales told with a grin. He had a calm, welcoming demeanor that evoked true friendship from those who knew him. He was a cowboy at heart, dreaming of dusty saloons in old Santa Fe and gunfights on the streets of Laredo.
He is survived by his wife, Patty (Carpenter) Peery, children, Jenny Peery and Craig Newburgh of Columbus, Mike Peery of Fisher, Texas, Betsy Peery Raymond Morgan, of who-knows-where, Louisiana, Kit Peery of San Jose, California ; grandchildren, Emily and Ashley Peery; sister, Goldie Jean (Chuck) Moore of Florida, brother Bill (Terry) Peery of Beckley, sister-in-law, Nancy Minyon of Florida, nieces and nephews, and many friends from West Virginia and Ohio.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Anne, twin brother, John, and about 25 beloved hounds.
A get-together will take place on Saturday, February 6th from 2 – 5pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles club, located at 1936 E. Main St., Lancaster, Ohio’. Please bring a story to tell of Pat, and visit with his family and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Tony and Jolyn Pugh for being there when we couldn’t, to all of the compassionate hospice and medical staff at his various healthcare facilities for their dedicated care, and to the boys of the SMART team for putting up with Dad’s BS.
