Roland "Shorty" Stebelton, 71, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 19, 2014. He was born December 27, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, son of the late Roland and Frances Stebelton. Shorty retired as a mechanic from Big John's Trucking Company. He was a 1962 Carroll High School graduate, and a member of Wildermuth Memorial Church, Carroll Historical Society and Carroll Senior Citizens.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon Stebelton; sons, Jeff (Dee) Stebelton, Jason Stebelton and James (Leslie) Stebelton; daughter, Melissa (Sean) Solt; grandchildren, Jacob Stebelton, Sarah Stebelton, Zachary Solt, Blake Solt and Vanessa So1t; sister, Connie Rogers and special friend, Dee Vargo.
The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 22, at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Carroll Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Gideons International.
