Shirley A. Hughes, 77, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Fairfield Medical Center. Shirley was the co- owner of Ye Olde Lancaster Flower Shop along with her mother and sister. Shirley was the 1990 woman of the year for the American Business Women’s Associations which she was a member of, and along with her husband Eric Dean Hughes shared a love of horses and gardening.
She is survived by children; Lana (Jim) Cozzens, Debra Hughes Hoover, Michael D. (Cecelia) Hughes, Mark (Carla) Hughes, Marsha (Walter) Schobel, Steve (Tammy) Hughes and Jacqueline (David) Arey; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, a sister Anna Hay, many aunts and uncles. She was preceded by her husband Eric Dean Hughes (Feb. 7, 2013), and her parents Paul and Etta Hay.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 P.M. at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, Lancaster, followed by private services for the family.
The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society in Shirley’s memory.
