

THOMAS DONOVAN went home to his heavenly Father and Jesus Christ his Lord surrounded by his family on July 17, 2016. Born August 7, 1933 in Wilmington, Delaware he was a proud veteran of the U. S. Navy serving on the USS Valley Forge from 1951-1955 during the Korean War. He attended New York University and enjoyed a successful career as a retail marketing executive with both The J. C. Penney Company and The Richman Brothers Company of Cleveland Ohio.
He is survived by Mary-Ellen, his beloved wife of 36 years. He was previously married to Nancy (Cunningham) who survives with their four children: Cynthia (Douglas) Westfall of Lorain, Ohio; Robert Brian Donovan of Madison, Wisconsin; Brenda (Ned) Melvin of Hinckley, Ohio; and Gregory (Jacqueline) Donovan of Stow, Ohio; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His sister, Pearl (James) Passmore of Long Beach also survives. He was predeceased by his mother, Pearl Emma Coombs and younger sister, Edith Kraemer.
The family would like to thank the Medics at Station Three of the Lancaster Fire Department; Alternacare of Fairfield County; Dr. Abidin and staff at Fairfield Internal Medicine; Dr, Singh and staff at Fairfield Hematology and Oncology; Fairfield Medical Center; Lanfair Center, and "Ray of Sunshine" caregiver, Carol Kempton. All devoted their utmost love and attention to Tom in his final days.

Friends may call 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with internment to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Donations in Tom's name may be made to the American Heart Association.
