
William “Bill” Edward Barnett, 81, of Nelsonville, went to Heaven to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the Fairfield Medical Center. Bill was born on August 3, 1944, in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Walter E. and Ruby M. Barnett. He was currently serving as a Pastor for the Locust Grove Church. Prior to becoming a Pastor, he and his wife, Rachel, are the founders of the Calvary’s Cross Ministries, which led him to take a mission trip to India. Along with currently being a supporter of the Emmanuel’s Orphanage of over 2000 children, as well as the United Christian Gospel Association and the Gateway English Medium School. He loved to hunt, fish, and most of all, loved spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Barnett; children, William “Will” Barnett, Nancy (Jeff) Skillman, Mike (Sonia) Barnett, Kelly (Burton) Arbogast, and Jacqueline (Thomas) Wilcoxson; brother, Ed (Janice) Barnett; grandchildren, Jacob Michael Barnett, Chad (Ida) Arbogast, Brooke Arbogast, Rachel Wilcoxson, and Thomas Wilcoxson; great-grandchild, Celeste Wilcoxon; along with many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Chad Michael Barnett, other grandchildren and his first wife, Marlene Barnett.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will take place on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at 11AM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Burial is to follow at the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery in Thornville. Visitation will take place from 10AM-11AM at the FUNERAL HOME.
