Suzanne was born on May 31, 1946 in Grand Bank, Newfoundland, the only daughter among four children of Lloyd and Bessie Powell.
Suzanne was well known for her gift of hospitality, she brought people together with warmth, generosity and memorable gatherings. This extended both to entertaining at home and creating beautiful meals, and throughout her career as a host at the Timber Club Hotel Vancouver and as a client care coordinator in Real Estate and Service Businesses. Suzanne had a lifelong passion for yoga: she excelled as an instructor and earned the respected title of Swami. Elegant, vibrant, and social, she was admired for her fun-loving personality, positive attitude and warm spirit. She had a way of lighting up any room she entered. Suzanne appreciated fine dining, good wine and the joy of gathering with friends and loved ones.
As we celebrate a beautiful life well lived, we hold close the gifts she leaves behind: her love and the countless memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. We take comfort in knowing that the people and places she loved so deeply will forever remain a part of her story and a part of ours.
Suzanne will be lovingly remembered by her children: Christopher Snow, Andrea Snow (Kevin), and Jennifer Snow (Tony); her daughter-in-law, Laurie Snow; her stepchildren, Clarence Furey, Charlene Furey-Bacquiere, and Dawn Furey (Derrick); her grandchildren: Damien (Anna & great-granddaughter Violet), Jonathan, Patrick, Quintin, Samantha, Nicole, Seamus, Max, Jake, Brayden, Grace, Elissa, Shanna, Emma, Dawson, Andrew, and Marc. Her brother, Angus Powell (Linda), her sister-in-law, Sue Powell, her brother-in-law Boyd Snow (Sandra) and her nieces and nephews. Suzanne was predeceased by her first husband, Dr. Wayne Snow; her second husband, John Furey; her son, Barry Snow; her parents, Lloyd and Bessie Powell; and her brothers, Duke and Alvin Powell.
In keeping with Suzanne's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family extends its sincere gratitude to the staff and volunteers of the Doug and Fran MacDonald Langley Hospice Residence for the exceptional care, compassion and support provided to Suzanne and her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Suzanne's memory to this hospice residence.
