It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christine Janice Tretick (nee Wolfe) on August 17th 2021 after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Christine was born on September 27th, 1944 in England. She resided in Harrison Hot Springs for the past 20 years. Christine is survived by her two loving daughters Janice (Mario) and Barbara (Chris), grandchildren Tyson, Jordan, Courtney and Amanda. Great grandchildren Skye and Lucca. Also survived by loving sister Carole in Australia and many other friends and family. Predeceased by loving husband Reg and faithful companion, their dog Chloe. Christine had a tremendous love for dogs and the thought or mention of her beloved dog Chloe would always make her smile.
Death Valley has always held a special place in Christine's heart. Reg and Christine were married there in 1980 and visited many times thereafter with family and friends. She loved to have fun there hanging out a the Sourdough Saloon and dancing with the locals. A favourite spot in Death Valley is Zabriskie Point where Reg's ashes were put and same spot where Christine wants to be. Looking out at the valley with Reg by her side.
Christine's love of music has always been a big part of her life. From her love of Elvis as a teenager to country and western loves like George Jones and Merle Haggard to name a few.
Christine and her British humour were like no other. Always young at heart and would make the family laugh with her British jokes and tales of her childhood in England. She always wanted to see Graceland but her health worsened due to the cancer and was not able to go unfortunatley. She loved travelling to Spain, England and Las Vegas travelling alone twice. Christine was strong in so many ways and held her head high. She loved life until it became too hard. Her love for her family will live on in us forever. There will never be another Nanny like Christine Tretick.
A special thank you to Dr. R Collins and the palliative team, Jeanette, Janet and Gina to name a few who showed tremendous care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Guide Dogs for the Blind International in memory of beloved dog Chloe.
Due to Covid restrictions, A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
RIP Christine, you will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
