My beautiful mum, Clara Ernestine (MacLean) Yeo, passed away peacefully on 21 March 2020, just short of her 90th birthday. My mum was a vibrant woman who always had time for you and made you feel special. Every day of my life I felt unconditional love from her. Even now that she has passed on, I still feel her love. “I’ll deeply miss you mum”.
My mum will be missed by her many friends and family COVID-19 is impacting on many families. While my mum was not directly impacted by the virus, the resulting travel restrictions meant that I could not be by my mum’s side. A heart felt thank you to my sisters Wanda Raffle and Heather Ray and their families who visited and cared for my mum in her final days.
IN LOVING MEMORY
Clara Ernestine (MacLean) Yeo April 5,1930 - March 21, 2020
As most of you now know, this past Saturday, our Yeo family lost another loved one - just fifteen days before her 90th birthday. She was the last surviving member of her siblings.
(Aunt) Clara will be missed by many but especially by her three children and their families: Wanda (Tom, Tyler and Connor) in Langley, BC; Heather (Dave, Samantha, Dana, and Tanner) in Langley, BC; and Rodney (Susie, Rebekah, and Kaitlyn) in Brisbane, Australia.
We think of all her family at this sad time and extend our deepest condolences. Losing a parent is difficult at any age and stage, but even more so during this Covid-19 pandemic, when travel restrictions, self-isolation and social distancing are in place, preventing her family from being able to be together, and from receiving the support and comfort from others that we typically receive during a time of bereavement. Although not the same, virtual hugs are being extended to each and every of her children, her daughter-in-law, her two sons-in-law, and her seven grandchildren.
For those of us who knew (Aunt) Clara well, she could probably best be described as a lady who somewhere, and somehow, discovered the secret to the fountain of youth - never changing over the years. She was a lady who seemed to always wear a smile - always pleasant and cheerful.
Rest in Peace, (Aunt) Clara.
