Claude Graham Overbury

On Saturday, January 21, 2023, our dad Claude Graham Overbury (95) passed away and joined his loving wife Audrey (93) (deceased February 2, 2022). Claude and Audrey were born in Gloucester, England.

Dad served in the British Army Paratroop regiment. In 1948 they were married and in 1952 immigrated to Canada as a young married couple. They settled in Vancouver where dad built our first home on the weekends and evenings after work.

There they welcomed three children; Graham, Susan (Bill) and Greg (Diana). In 1963 Claude and his business partner started Benton & Overbury Ltd., specializing in acoustic ceilings, partitions and hospital curtain track, and the company is still in business today.

Our family spent summers at our cabin on Pitt Lake enjoying boating, waterskiing and campfires. Dad kept busy creating beautiful woodworking projects in his retirement and mum sewing and quilting. Many winters were enjoyed in Palm Springs and Phoenix golfing.

Claude and Audrey were proud grandparents to nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. They were predeceased by their son Graham, granddaughter Nicole and grandson Darrell.

Mum and Dad are happy together again, enjoying a cup of tea, and catching up. Rest peacefully Mum and Dad, we miss you and love you forever.
