Dale Alexander Beaton aged 61 years young, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer on July 20th 2012. He will be deeply missed by his wife Cheryl of 26 years. He is survived and missed by his many many daughters Kelly(Chris), Amanda(Michael), Lacey, Sheena(Orsy), Ashley(Jason) and his son Blair. He also leaves behind five grandchildren Abrielle, Dryden, Ethan, Ella and Allana. There are too many friends that are like family to list, you know who you are. There is also too large of an extended family of Dales to acknowledge everyone. He is predeceased by his father Alexander his mother Kathleen(Kay) and his brother Jerry. Dale has been a Surrey Firefighter for over 30 years retiring on March 27th 2009. He was thinking that he would live the relaxed retired life and tinker in his shop. After only a few short months of sipping martinis and farting around in his shop, Cheryl (the boss) said enough is enough and sent him back into the workforce. He found his calling by getting on at KMS Tools in Langley which put him right in the middle of tools of all shapes, sizes and uses. He was in his element there, feeding his hoarding tendencies that he came by naturally from his mom. Dale could always see a use or potential in anything, which of course required him to have a tool for each application. He fit right in and became a part of the KMS family forming many friendships. Dale was involved with the Cloverdale Rodeo for many years which seemed like a lifetime to Cheryl. He started out by volunteering with the Surrey fire department for their fire safety program and continued to become a member of the board of directors. Cheryl knew that come Rodeo time, that she shouldnt expect Dale to be around and if you needed him for anything check down at the rodeo grounds. He could normally be found cruising the grounds on the Gator flashing his infectious smile to passerbys. Dale was made an honourary lifetime member of the Surrey Professional Fire Fighters Pioneer Association in July of this year. He forged many friendships through his personal and professional life and we know he cherished each and every one of them. A memorial service will be held at his family home at 24088 66th avenue on Saturday July 28th 2012 from 1pm to 4pm. This is open to anyone that knew Dale and would like to come and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Surrey Fire Department Charities.
