

Diana Walker (Plankeel), passed away the morning of July 25, 2021, in Langley Hospice
surrounded by family, after a long battle with Leukaemia.
Diana was born in Oliver, BC on December 21, 1952 to Marinus (Dick) and Gerarda (Ann)
Plankeel and was raised in Langley, BC
She graduated from Langley Senior Secondary in 1970 and BCIT in 1973 with her degree in
Forestry. She worked for the Ministry of Forestry until retirement in 2018.
On May 6, 1989 she was happily married to Tom Walker.
Diana was a dedicated and loving mother, who raised two daughters to love farming, gardening
and the outdoors as much as she did. She was involved for many years with local organizations
like the Lower Mainland Sheep Producers Association (LMSPA), and the Langley Spinners and
Weavers. She also dedicated her time to running her sheepskin sewing business and the farm
raising sheep, beef and laying hens. In 2013 she won Champion Charollais ram at the All
Canadian Sheep Classic. Diana also spent time in her vegetable garden and her rose garden
always sharing her bounty.
Her family would like to extend their thank you to the care teams at VGH and Langley Hospice.
Diana is predeceased by her father. She is survived by her husband Tom, and daughters Johanna
and Jessica.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the BC Cancer Society.
