Dolores Wallace

15 May, 19303 January, 2021

We are sad to announce the passing of Dolores Wallace who was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years Charles in 2001, her mother Ella, father Stanley and sister Beverly.

Dolores is survived by her brother Stan (Mirjana), daughter Linda, son Bruce (Rochelle), daughter Sandy, grandchildren Veronica, Mack, and Taynne and great granddaughter Lulu. Mum passed away peacefully on January 3, 2021 from age and complications from dementia. Mum's entire life was centered on her passion for volunteering. She was a leader in the adapted aquatics community when she and her friend Babe started a program at Percy Norman Pool in the 70s. It was the first of its kind in Vancouver.

She was also very active in the Girl Guides of Canada, first being a guide leader at Immaculate Conception Church and then becoming the BC Girl Guide Commissioner. She had many other volunteer hats that she wore throughout the years and was immensely proud of all the people and friends that she met and lives that she touched. Mum attended Little Flower Academy and had lifelong friends from that time.

We would like to thank the entire team at Simpson Manor/Fort Langley Seniors Living for the amazing care of Mum over the last 6 plus years. We can't thank you enough for the special care that you gave to Mum.

As kids, I remember the sleepovers and the lovely dinners your Mum used to make us at your home on the "flats" in Vancouver or to those of us in Ocean Park, "the big city". (Even though you were surrounded by farms.)
There were often friends coming over for an evening of delicious appetizers with a variety of tasty foods this "country girl" had never experienced before.
Your Mum loved entertaining her and your Dad's friends (and business associates) and was a skilled hostess.
