Douglas Ian Macdonald affectionately known as Dougie, Grandpahaircut, & Papa Doug passed away May 26, 2021, at the age of 70 years. Doug leaves behind his wife Christine and her children Ashley (Luke), Melanie, Justin (Christal), Nick, and Jennifer. He is also survived by his two children Kevin and Janal (Vanessa), their mother Janice, and his brother Bob. Doug will be greatly missed by all his grandchildren Maxwell, Bennett, Quill, Hunter, Avalyn, Gwyneth, Owen, London, Nikita, Christopher, and Brooke whom he adored.
Doug was a fixture of downtown Langley for nearly 40 years where he owned Dapper Dan's Barber Shop. He retired in 2019 after his cancer diagnosis. Never one to complain or burden others, Doug chose not to have a service, instead he preferred we celebrate his life borrowing lyrics from Alan Jackson "Prop me up beside the jukebox when I die, Lord, I wanna go to heaven, but I don't wanna go tonight." So when the time is right that's just what we'll do - hold a celebration of his life so we can laugh and reminisce about the many good times we had.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
