She was my great aunt, and a great one at that! She may have lived two provinces away but it never seemed like it. 
Growing up we got to see her at least once a year. Even so, she always seemed ever present. There was always phone calls and cards and pictures sent back and forth. She was always interested in what was happening in our lives. Whether it was asking about our grades in school, what sports we were playing, or how a new job was going. Her interest in our lives was insurmountable. 
She always held a spot in my heart that was more like that of a grandparent, rather than that of a relative that lived so far away. 
She was adventurous, never letting something stand in her way. When she started having knee issues it just took her a little longer to make her annual trek out to Saskatchewan, and eventually she flew instead. I like to think I inherited some of that tenacity. 
I can remember her meeting my children for the first time. She was always able to make them laugh and bring smiles to their faces. She always had a story or a joke for them. Always genuinely interested in what they had to say. 
She made it easy for everyone to love her. We were lucky to have her for as long as we did. She was well loved, and will be dearly missed. 

Deepest sympathies to all who loved Edna. She had a zest for life that I admired.. 
I first met her when my sister Karen was marrying Edna’s son Bob. 
From that union She was blessed with two wonderful,  grandchildren, Michael and Melanie  whom she loved and who made her proud. 
I appreciated my friendship with Edna and enjoyed our times together with her grandchildren.

Dear Sis I am going to very much miss all the travelling we did and of course all the great card games , We shared a lot of laughter and tears over the years. This is going to be short because I am not the writer in the family as you all know. Miss you already and always will                          Love Melba and Alvin ❤️

I have so many fond memories of a very special Aunt Edna ! We may have been far apart but she was was always so special and I felt we had a bond that was so special , she would talk about anything and I always felt very close with her ❤️We always looked forward to her yearly visits and as I had my own family my husband Kelly  and my kids Kristin and Nathan also looked forward to her visits . Being I lived close to mom I got to spend lots of time with her , she would join me on my walks and would  walk over for coffee and of course we would have a special meal as well. Kelly and Nathan woukd banter back and forth about the Lions and the Riders ,of course many phone calls being made with good discussions !              Nathan would join with them  over at my moms and they would play cards in the evenings when he was older and Kristin's family got to know her as well as she had her children . Kristin did a little road trip with Aunt Enna and Grandma Melba when she was a young teen from Saskatoon to home and it sounded like they   had a lot of fun . We made a couple trips out to see her as well , one when the kids were little and another a few years ago and we really had good visits with her .i will treasure my memories of her , and I will miss her very much. Our phone calls would always end with I love you s❤️            She was such s very special person and will missed so very much ! I have nothing but fond memories of my Aunt Edna and I always looked forward to her many visits with our family in Carrot River. There were always many laughs, stories told and good times had. Even after I moved away I always tried to get home for a couple of days to catch up whenever she arrived. 

Perhaps our biggest bond was through sports, but especially football. She was a die hard B.C. Lions fan and I of course am part of Rider Nation, a supporter of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Whenever the two teams played one another you could be sure that one of us would call the other at the end of the game to gloat and boast about a victory! If we lost, your could be sure that the next phone call, only a few minutes later, would be Aunt Edna. There would be some good natured bantering and kidding back and forth about how much better our respective team was than the other, at least on that particular day! I will sadly miss those calls.

Lyle and Lorraine Campbell

I spent a great part of my high school years in the Green household. I kept my PJs in Shirley's top drawer and my toothbrush in the cup in the bathroom. We didn't call and ask for permission for me to go home with Shirley after school, I just showed up. We would go home to an empty house because Mrs. Green was a working mother. We would listen to records on the living room floor with Bob, who was a member of the Columbia Record Club, while Shirley started dinner. I was always made welcome in the family routine. In the morning, Mrs. Green would make my boiled egg just the way I liked it and there was a brown paper lunch bag for me to take to school. It was a wonderful thing to be so accepted and welcomed. There were also countless rides home..even the time when Shirley was learning to drive and went right into the ditch when turning into our driveway! Shirley and I were amazed at our mothers laughing together while waiting for the tow truck!

Aunt Edna was a very very special lady to me, we shared a close bond , I could and did tell her everything ! I remember her yearly visits to Saskatchewan, she never missed a year until she became unable to do so . I always treasured every single one ! The last one was for Alyssa’s Grade 12 Grad in 2010 and we had a thunderstorm like this Province hadn’t seen in years , lost power the whole bit ! Her and I were standing outside watching the incredible lighting and she said “ in my whole life I’ve never seen a Prairie storm like this !!! 
 She was classy , quick witted , could tell a joke like no one else ! She loved her sports especially Football ! There would be back and forth friendly banter about the Saskatchewan Roughriders vs BC Lions with all the nephews here , boy she knew her football!!! Hockey as well  ! Many many sports !!! She never missed a Graduation or a Wedding until medical reasons would no longer allow her to travel , she travelled to see us so many times ! I miss those visits sooooo much ! She came to help my Mom look after my children more than once when I had many surgeries, we had sooooo many laughs !! It was busy crazy looking after my babies and they all grew to love her sooooo much as well , each of the three of them had a special relationship with her as well . Aunt Edna I miss you so much already!!! My last chat with you was a very good conversation, I treasure that call now !!! Always called me dear or sweetie and always a few I love you’s at the end, I love and miss you more than I can express, I know you’re reunited with Pete and Bob and many more My Dad, Gramma and Grampa  , that’s the only thing that gives me some comfort .....  until I see you again, I love you , we all love you !!!
