Dear Valerie and family,
I had the pleasure of meeting your mother and father at Fort Langley Seniors Centre (Simpson Manor).
My mother Audrey Greig , lived just a few doors down from Ernie.
I am forever grateful for the loving care that Ernie extended to my Mother over the 6 years that she lived there. Ernie always had a kind word or would help direct my Mom if she was a little confused. Mom and I always enjoyed our visits with Ernie over tea. 
During my time at Simpson Manor, Ernie and I spoke at length about the improvements that could be made. He encouraged me to start up a Family Council. He sure had a way of delegating!! With Ernie's incredible life experience, his tenacity and encouragement we were able to achieve quite a lot prior to Covid. 
Sadly, our contact was cut short due to the Covid restrictions and the momentum we had came to a halt. We did keep in touch by phone.
I miss my visits with Ernie and was so sorry to hear of his passing. I  know that he is greatly missed by the staff. 
I can't believe it has been a year.
Please know that he made such an impact on so many lives. I had such great respect for your father and appreciated how hard he worked with management to affect change in LTC. 
Most of all, I remember him for the loving caring man that he was to my Mom and all of the residents and for that I am so grateful.
I appreciate the opportunity of being able to share this with you.

I met Ernie threw email about 2 years ago, we were both working on our family trees. Iam related threw Ernies Wife, she was my grandmothers half sister, (Same father). It was amazing to finally find my grandmas family and share information with them and records.  He was such a sweet man, my condolences to the family and May he Rest In Peace.
