

Gar lived a successful and righteous life. He was born on July 28, 1940 in Teulon, Manitoba, where he was raised on the family farm, in his late teens his family moved to BC where he lived the rest of his amazing life and raised his own family in Langley, BC. along with his beautiful wife Carol and later his two children Lori and Brad, grand children and Great grand children. Gar was a dedicated husband and father to his family and always made sure they were well looked after, he was a hard-working man, dedicated to his family, everything he did was for them.
Gar was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Mary Campbell and his older brother Lyle. He was survived by his loving wife Carol, his two children Lori and Brad, his 4 grandchildren Travis, Teresa, Karissa and Carli, his multiple great-grand children, his sisters Ione and Amy and his many friends and colleagues.
Gar worked hard all his life, starting out in the Vancouver area as a first aid attendant with Finning Tractor until 1969 when he purchased his first business A&W Trucking from his in-laws Alice and Wilf Furness. Gar worked very hard at his new business over the years and grew it into a national company known as Tenold Transportation Inc. In 2005 he retired and sold his very successful company. In his early retirement he was not at all done yet with his many achievements, he soon moved on to be a prominent Standardbred horse racing owner and sat on the Board of Directors at the track. Gar was also a well know business man in the Township of Langley, involved with owning and managing various small businesses in conjunction with his colleagues. He was also a land developer and brought more than one property to development in the Township of Langley.
Gar was a prominent and admired man in his community, where he touched many souls and helped others to be successful in their own lives. Many times, we have heard people say “I would not be where I am today if not from the help and heart felt advice from Gar Campbell”.
In his life beyond work Gar enjoyed numerous hobbies and activities, including a small hobby farm, a lake cabin and property, animals and horse racing, helping others and spending time with his family. He was a man capable of wearing many different hats and enjoyed each one of them.
Gar was a magnetic force, people gravitated towards him and he did what he could to make time for others. He was compassionate, loving, caring, attentive, fair, a good-humoured man and a real gentleman. If you were around Gar, you were guaranteed to learn and laugh all at the same time. Gar will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends, his legacy and memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Dad, we will miss you immensely. You were our go-to person when we needed support and advice in this busy life. You were always there when we needed someone, we could count on you to provide sound advice without judgement, you always gave us 110% and never stopped believing in us. Because of you, we have the hearts of a lion, the love of our family and an insane work ethic. We thank you Dad for every time you gave advice, accepted our calls and the ever-lasting love you provided us. You gave us beautiful and amazing lives to live and because of you we are all better people. We will forever keep you in our hearts. You were, are and will always be our Hero!
