In complete peace, Gordon Krogel Sr. of Surrey, B.C. passed into the presence of his LORD and Savior Jesus Christ on July 4, 2023 at the age of 91.
Gordon was predeceased by his wife, Marie. He is survived by his two sons Gord Jr. (wife, Marie) and Gary (wife, Layle); his grandchildren Jordan, (partner, Ashley), Joshua, Anthony, Lucas, Alex, Evan and great-grandchild Ayla.
Founder of West World Truck and Equipment, Gord Sr and "the boys" provided unsurpassed encyclopedic knowledge and outstanding service to a wide variety of industries. The Shop was often a place to drop in and talk with Senior. Many friends in conversation with the Legend carried away words of wisdom, information and generous moments of laughter over the last 45 years.
Tambourine-Gordie was renowned for his plucky renditions of church hymn favourites as he led countless congregants to greater heights of praise. Gordie served faithfully as a young man in weekly ministry at Salvation Army, as well as elder, and pastor to many, at Open Bible Chapel in Vancouver. Story after story has been told about how Pastor Krogel was the one to talk to for clear, faithful understanding of scripture. He never wavered in his convictions or the foundation of truth.
With confidence Gordie knew his eternal destination: singing tenor in heaven's choir beside his beloved alto, Marie.
