He led a full life growing up in Vietnam, starting his family after meeting our mother and then making it through an arduous journey to Canada. He worked hard to start a new life for his family in Canada and always focused on caring and providing for his family. He had a profound sense of compassion for people in need, and his friends always remarked of his generous nature. When his grandchildren were born, he again showed his caring and love stepping in to help whenever needed. He was an amazing cook, aka “Top Chef”, who enjoyed cooking for his family and friends for any occasion. A few of our favorite dishes that he made included chả giò (Vietnamese egg roll), “Cong Cong’s” soup and “Cong Cong’s” fish. He also had a great sense of humor, cracking jokes that made everyone laugh. He was an avid fish hobbyist and he would spend hours caring for his exotic fish. He loved technology and figured out on his own how to be the most active Luu family member on FaceBook… with only the occasional call to his daughters for IT support . Although he is no longer with us, we will always cherish the wonderful times we had with him and the love that he always showed us. We miss him dearly.
He is survived by his loving family including his devoted wife, To Anh Luu, five children (Luong, Thanh, Minh, Suly and Ken), son-in-laws (Damian, Ed, John and Daryll), daughter in-law (Veni), 7 grandkids (Kai, Max, Alex, Abby, Morgan, Leo and Denny) and siblings (Vinh, Van and Trinh).
