Jacoba Wiegers

Jacoba ‘Coby’ Wiegers, 5 days before her 81st birthday passed on to glory peacefully at home. Coby dearly loved and cherished her husband, her best friend, Bob of 60+ years and he will deeply miss her as will her 6 six children, their spouses, 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Coby was treasured and was a blessing to everyone around her. She devoted her life to her husband and her family. She loved God and aspired to live for Him. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and gentle and kind spirit. She enjoyed to serve and willingly did so whenever the opportunity came. She loved her bible studies over the years and the friendships she developed through them. She was encouraged by the church community in many thoughtful ways and so appreciated the compassion and sermons by her Pastors.

Coby was born and raised in Holland, the youngest of 4 children, enjoyed a wonderful childhood that often found her on her Father’s ship sailing the Mediterranean and the North Sea. She met her sweetheart when she was 17 and then again when she was 20. After a whirlwind romance of 3 weeks, she married her true love and moved to Canada. Coby’s sister lived with them for the first two months and helped her adjust to her life as a wife in Canada. Bob and Coby had 5 children (they lost one in infancy) in Edmonton for the first 9 years and then moved to the Fraser Valley where they welcomed 2 more children and this is where they made their home for the rest of their life together.

Coby enjoyed reading, puzzling, visiting, traveling (not for too long), and most of all spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
