It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jaeseok Ryu, who was deeply loved by his family and friends and passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, at the age of 53, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Jaeseok lived life with sincerity, passion, and a genuine heart. He cared deeply about the people around him and valued trust, meaningful relationships, and the connections he built throughout his life. From a young age, he loved sports and played baseball throughout his school years.
In his twenties, thirties, and forties, Jaeseok worked tirelessly to build his business. Although he was dedicated to his work, he never allowed success or business to define who he was. He was never someone who measured life by personal gain. Instead, he believed that people and relationships mattered most.
Beneath his tall and strong appearance was a sensitive and pure heart. Jaeseok never lost the curiosity, playfulness, and innocence of a young boy. He loved joking around and teasing the people closest to him, often sending silly messages and playful jokes just to get a reaction. Behind those jokes was always a sincere heart and a deep affection for his family. His playful nature was one of the ways he expressed his love.
He found joy in life's simple comforts: a good cup of coffee, a bowl of instant ramen, a glass of whisky, watching movies, golfing and spending time with the people he loved. Many of us will always remember riding with him in the car, where classical music was almost always playing in the background. Those quiet drives, filled with conversations, laughter, and playful arguments, are memories we will carry with us forever.
To his mother, Jaeseok was her beloved youngest son, deeply cherished and loved throughout his life. He was also a son who loved and cared for his mother deeply in return. To his siblings, he was a brother with whom he shared laughter, teasing, and a bond that remained strong through every season of life. To his only niece, he was like an older brother and a father figure—someone with whom she could banter freely, share life stories, and remain a special part of her life.
Over the past two years, Jaeseok faced an incredibly difficult journey with rare cancer. Together with his family, he endured countless treatments, hospital visits, and moments of uncertainty. Through it all, he showed courage, resilience, and strength.
While his loss deeply saddens our hearts, we find comfort in knowing that his long and difficult journey has finally come to an end and that he is now at peace.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
