It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert (Bobby) Martin on March 15, 2025, at Langley Memorial Hospital. Born on March 5, 1946, Bobby lived a life full of passion, hard work, and adventure.
Bobby began his career as a chef, but after moving to British Columbia, he discovered a deep love for metal fabrication. This passion led him to establish MBM Metal Fabricators, a company that became a testament to his dedication and craftsmanship. Beyond building a successful business, Bobby was deeply committed to teaching and mentoring. Throughout his career, he trained countless young apprentices, shaping the careers of many aspiring tradesmen and leaving a lasting impact on the industry.
Outside of work, Bobby had a lifelong love for NASCAR, following the sport with enthusiasm and excitement. He was also passionate about RC car racing, spending countless hours perfecting his skills and enjoying the camaraderie of the RC racing community. His love for speed and adventure extended to the open road—Bobby was a proud Harley-Davidson enthusiast who found freedom and joy in riding.
Bobby will be dearly missed by his sisters, Joyce and Pearl, and his nephews, Martin and Pierre, along with his many friends, colleagues, and former apprentices who were fortunate enough to learn from him.
A private funeral service for close friends and family will be held on March 27th at 1:00 PM at Henderson's Langley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice in Bobby’s memory would be appreciated.
Bobby's spirit, mentorship, and love for life will forever be remembered by those who knew him.
