Marg was born on February 18, 1942 in Regina, SK and was the eldest of four kids born to Ralph and Katharine Bamford. She grew up in Moose Jaw, and following highschool and secretarial training, worked for some years at the bank of Nova Scotia. It was in Moose Jaw that she met a young pilot named George Serviss. The two married there in 1965 and immediately made the move to Vancouver where George began flying for CP Air and Marg transferring to a Vancouver branch of Scotiabank, and later the Toronto Dominion.
Marg and George welcomed three children who they raised in homes in Richmond, Tsawwassen and then their acreage in south Langley where they resided for 31 years before settling in White Rock in their retirement years. A few years after George’s passing in 2017 following 51 years of marriage, Marg moved to the Avalon Gardens Retirement Home in Langley.
Throughout her years, Marg was involved with the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, curled in both the Tsawwassen and Langley curling clubs, enjoyed flying shotgun with George in his small airplanes and many great holidays. She also loved gardening and swimming laps in the pool, but her greatest passion was spending time with family and cherished friends.
Marg was pre-deceased by her parents, husband George and brothers Dave and Doug. She leaves behind her sister Janet (Don) Martin; her children Steven (Connie), Debbie (Terry Radtke) and Tracey (Garett Bartos); nine grandchildren: Mitchell (Chanelle) McArthur, Riley (Abbi), Krysta (Colton) and Kayla Serviss, Chelsea (Ethan), Brady, Ethan (Janessa) Radtke and Taliah and Devin Bartos; and six great-grandchildren: Camilla, Summer, Daniella, Kieran, Brinley and Colter.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 14th, 2026 at Langley Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM. 20867 - 44 Ave., Langley.
