29 November, 1966 – 25 September, 2025
IN THE CARE OF

Henderson's Langley Funeral Home

In Loving Memory of Markus Loeper

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Markus Loeper, who left us suddenly and unexpectedly on September 25, 2025.

Markus is survived by his loving family in Germany and Canada: his loving wife, Irene Karas Loeper; his son, Yannik, daughter-in-law Vanessa and grandson, Henri; sister Katja Strube and her husband Antony, along with their children Danny and Kristin; his brother Martin Loeper and his wife Manu; his sister Doris Vanheiden and her husband Sven; his godson Alexander; as well as extended aunts, uncles, and cousins. Markus' circle of love extended far beyond family to dear friends in both Germany and Canada, where he built strong bonds and was warmly welcomed into the Karas and Wilkinson families.

Markus was a proud father to his son, Yannik, in Germany, and was overjoyed to become a grandfather this past May when Yannik and his wife Vanessa welcomed their son, baby Henri. Becoming "Opa" brought Markus immeasurable happiness and pride. Markus dedicated over a decade of his career as Service Manager at Mack Kirk, where he was a respected colleague, teammate, and friend. Born in Germany, he later made Canada his home, where he found peace and joy in the outdoors. He especially loved spending time at his property in the Chilcotin, fishing and riding his ATV, and at his home in Brookswood, Langley, where he took great pride in his backyard and many passion projects.

Markus will be remembered for his love, strength, warmth, humor, loyalty, and commanding presence. He was charismatic, kind-hearted, and always wore his heart on his sleeve. To his beloved wife, Irene, he was a constant source of love, encouragement, and unwavering support. Markus was her rock, her joy, and the love of her life. Markus wished to be remembered in the simplest and most joyful way: raising a beer and enjoying a bratwurst in the backyard with friends and family on a warm summer day. In that spirit, a future summer date of love will bring loved ones together to share memories and celebrate the beautiful life he lived with his wife together with their cherished puppy, Charlotte, by their side. Markus touched countless lives and left us far too soon. He will forever be loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts.
