Maurice John Peacey

Maurice was born on February 13, 1931 in Gloucestershire, England. During his life he called many places home, and at the time of his passing he resided in the city of Langley, BC.

Maurice spent his childhood in Gloucestershire, and served in the RAF in Gloucester. He married his loving wife there, Norma Rosemary Peacey, and together they immigrated to BC, Canada in 1965.

After immigrating he worked as an accountant for WD Moore Logging in Winter Harbour, BC, and later worked as an accountant for both Glad Tidings and All Nations Christian Fellowship. He also spent time volunteering to feed the poor and help those in need through the Sunlight House on Granville Street in downtown Vancouver. His love for people led him to become a Wal-Mart greeter after retirement.

Maurice enjoyed singing, camping trips with family especially sites on the ocean, trains and cruising. He loved to tell jokes and had a great sense of humor. He spent time singing in the Glad Tidings Church choir, where he also taught bible school, church history, and newly married couples classes. He could always be heard whistling his favorite tunes. Later in life, he enjoyed going on cruises with his family. For Maurice, his family and God were what mattered the most. No matter what was happening in his life he was always saying ‘praise the Lord anyway'.

Maurice will be missed by his wife Norma Rosemary Peacey, as well as their children Robert Peacey and his wife Jin-Ju Peacey, Chris Mahara and her husband Pat Mahara, and Karen Peacey, as well as their grandchildren Ashley Peacey, Brianna Peacey, and Joshua Peacey and his wife Stephanie Peacey, and his great grandchild Vincent.

Maurice's celebration of life will be privately held by his family.
