Murray John Paul Stanley

Murray was born January 12, 1942 in Kincardine, Ontario. He was one of 11 children of James and Fanny (nee Turner) Stanley.

Murray was a retired millworker who worked at various lumber mills, retiring from Tyee Timber in Langley, BC in 2004.

Murray especially loved car racing and spent much of his free time attending races at the Skagit Raceway, tinkering on his cars or going to garage sales and thrift shops. He liked to drive by the neighbourhood checking on his people, and verifying that their lawns were mowed. He was also a member of the Cloverdale Legion and enjoyed attending dancing and the meat draws.

Murray was always the first to help out, whenever needed. This could be driving kids to school, repairing something or showing up with an appliance or household item…whether you wanted it or not!

Murray had a wonderful and quirky sense of humor, and enjoyed to laugh. He was usually the first to appear at a gathering, and often the last to leave, he loved a good party and being around his family and friends.

Murray was predeceased by his wife Marian Stanley. Remaining to cherish Murray’s memory are his children, Robyn Stanley, Dana Hussey-Stanley, Tricia Weatherbee, Jacqueline Norcliffe, his 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and countless family and friends.

A memorial or “Murr-Morial” is scheduled for Thursday August 27th, at 2:00 p.m at Henderson's Langley Funeral Home, 20786 Fraser Highway, Langley BC with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend to celebrate (Murray)'s life.
