To Alan, Linda, Stanley and Debora

My love is with all of you today. I remember both Grandpa and Grandma shopping in the store like it was yesterday! They loved coming to see Stanley and Debora. Whoever was there that day would walk them to the car. You’ll have such wonderful memories. My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Percy Evans.

Hello Everyone;
On behalf of the Tom Rooke family, we would all like to extend our condolences to family of Percy and Jean Evans. We will truly miss our Uncle Percy; he was a very kind man with a lot of insight into how to live well and provide help to others as needed. His devotion to his family was always very evident when we visited.
Larry Evans and I were first cousins and only born about a month a part so we were sort of cousin twins when we all lived on our farms near Norgate. There were lot of visits to each other’s houses overnight and we really have some great times at the house of Uncle Percy and Auntie Jean. When Percy and family moved to Dauphin the visits were less frequent however, we always enjoyed our visits. When the family all moved to Fort Langley, the visits were even less frequent; however the visits were always fantastic. Anytime we came to visit we were always offered a hot or cold beverage with some food and we truly enjoyed our conversations with both Percy and Jean.
Uncle Percy will be missed by all of us and while we are all in mourning we can take solace that he lived long great life with his family and he has gone on to a better place in Heaven. Take time to remember those great times with Uncle Percy and celebrate his life.

My condolences and love to Stan and Deb and all of Percy’s family.
I remember him grocery shopping and teasing you both. He was so proud of you. He was a lovely man and you all must have such great memories to hold onto.

Remembering the wonderful Percy. Such a selfless and kind man with nothing but adoration and love for his entire family. Always with a sense of wonderment and appreciation for all the little facets of life. Resourceful and with an uncanny ability to create something useful out of something seemingly un-useful. No matter the hardships he had faced in his life, he always did so with a remarkable sense of resilience. His essence will always be near - his kind nature instilled into everyone that was a part of his life. Thank you and love you forever Grandpa!

Message Received from Percy’s niece Barb Holley

Wendy,

I knew at some point in time this message would come. It doesn’t make it any easier to accept and bear. Your mom and dad were wonderful examples of devoted love. They loved each of their children. They were so proud of each of you. Each of you for different accomplishments and achievements. Your dad would let me know what each of you were up to. Oh and the grandchildren were even better, even though he worried about each of them. He was so worried about Laurie and so sad when she passed. His heart ached for the loss of Larry, but his heart never mended after your mom.

I know that words can never express the heart felt sympathy or the sorrow in the hearts of those that loved your dad. This little note is to let you all know that others share the sorrow and grief in your hearts and to extend deeper sympathy and love than any words can express. May you each find comfort and peace.

My love to all.

Barb

To the sweetest, most devoted and yet most charmingly stubborn man I've ever known. Nothing mattered more to you than the family you created. We miss you now and always, but know you're happy and at peace now that you're back with Grandma again. See you later, Gramps.

I would like to send our condolences to the family of Percy Evans. He was such a kind and caring man. He was mom's ( Barb) table mate at Fort Langley Seniors Community AKA Simpson Manor for 1.5 years. He was very patient with my mom who suffers from dementia, he even would assist her with eating when she was refusing to or not remembering how to. Percy and I had great conversations about his family and he would tell me how proud he was of them he was. I would like to thank Caroline (spelling) especially as she kept me company while visiting and a good watch on my mom on the days I could not .

Your family was truly blessed to have such a wonderful father, grand-father and great-grandfather. I am sorry I can't come in person but please know I will be there in sprit.

Sincerely
Debbie and Barb Armstrong
