IN THE CARE OF

Henderson's Langley Funeral Home

Peter William Sparling, at the age of 85, of Langley BC, passed away, August 29, 2026.

Peter Sparling was born in New Westminster BC and the son of James Frederick Sparling and Isabella Baird Sparling. He is survived by his sister, Mary Cramer of Healey Kansas, and had loving memories of his deceased brother and sister, David Sparling and Ruth Speaker.

Peter was an avid runner, reader of any true crime and sports book, and travelling around the world. His top picks where such places and Cuba, China, South America, New Zealand and Australia. During his long running career, he had many accomplished milestones, such as qualifying for the New York Marathon, and completing a half marathon with his 15 year old granddaughter. Many people got to enjoy the show of his running and was widely recognized by his baby blue pin stripped old running pants. They where only retired after a family intervention.

Peter was the most patient and loving man, and would spend hours just sitting doing puzzles and / or teaching grandchildren Chinese checkers.

Remaining to cherish Peter’s memory are the Spouse; Marilyn Sparling. Children: Tammy and Christopher Larsen. Grandchildren: Corey, Christie, Hailey, Shardai, and Nyla. Great Grandchildren: Madelyn, Eric, Wesley, Logan, and Parker.

At Peters wish, there will be no service held as he would never want anyone to fuss over him.

The family would like to do a special shout out, and thank you to all of the staff and caregivers at Langley Memorial Hospital. You where exceptional and appreciated every single day by us and Peter.
