Roger is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Karen; his sons Gerald (Janice), Frank (Jaime) and two grandchildren – Kiera & Makaio.
Roger was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Richmond, BC at a young age. He spent much of his early life on a farm, where he learned the values of hard work, self-reliance, kindness and perseverance. He enjoyed a long career as a glazier, taking great pride in helping build and repair buildings throughout the Lower Mainland.
In his younger years Roger enjoyed bowling, recreational hockey, fishing, gardening, and later in life travelling and cruising with Karen and friends. If he had one wish left unfulfilled, it may simply have been to see his beloved Vancouver Canucks hoist the Stanely Cup.
Roger was known to many as the ‘gadget guy’. He was endlessly curious about technology and loved sharing new discoveries with family and friends. His enthusiasm for learning remained with him throughout much of his life.
Roger will be sadly missed by his family, extended family, and neighbours & friends that were like family.
An Open House style Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 30th, 2026, between 1:30pm – 4:30pm at the West Langley Hall, 9402 208th Street, Langley BC. Please stop by and share a story or memory of Roger with his family.
